FREE Slow Down Stickers!

PCSO 6163 Stephen NYIRONGO from the Stratford Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team has just emailed the following information.

“Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police are working together to protect our communities and the wider road user community from harm arising from inappropriate or excessive speed. In some instances drivers and riders find themselves travelling too fast through a momentary lack of attention.

Warwickshire residents can now remind errant drivers and riders travelling through their community to pay extra attention to their speed by applying advisory stickers onto their wheelie bins. Each household can apply for up to 2 stickers, which must only be used in accordance with guidelines issued by Warwickshire County Council.

Guidelines for use

v Only use 1 sticker per bin.
v The bin must only be put out on collection day – this provides more impact.
v Place the bin so that it is visible to passing drivers and riders, i.e. side-on to oncoming traffic.
v The bin must not cause an obstruction on footways or the road.
v Do not leave the bin out for longer than necessary.
v Once the bin has been emptied the bin must be placed back onto the householders property.
v The sticker is for Wheelie Bin use only – misuse of the sticker could be classed as vandalism.

Anyone wishing to apply for Wheelie Bin ‘slow down’ stickers should contact:
