Clarissa Roberts kindly came along to our Residents’ Meeting to tell us about VASA’s Volunteer Transport Scheme. She explained that it organises to take patients, who are without their own transport, to medical appointments at hospitals, doctors’ surgeries and day centres both across the District and county, and outside. They also run Community Links, a partnership between W.C.C, Stratford District Council and Stratford Town Trust which is comprised of six MPVs with wheelchair access to drive those who are stuck for transport for shopping and other social needs, for minimal fares.

If anyone has found an abandoned pink micro scooter on Trinity Mead a little girl will be very happy. It was left at the little park by Budgens yesterday and sadly this morning was gone.
If you have found it, or picked it up by mistake, please call Paula on 01789 294116 or if that is not possible drop it off at Budgens and Paula will call there to check. Or you can leave a comment on this post telling Paula where it can be found.
It would be lovely to have a result on this so please keep your eyes open.
Many thanks
Only posted this a couple of hours ago and delighted to say that some kind person has found the scooter and Paula and her daughter are

Rebecca Abele’s cat, Arnold, went missing on Friday evening (2nd July) from Orwell Close. He is called Arnold and is tabby and white with a brown nose.
He is quite new to the area and therefore may be lost or hiding in someone’s shed or garage, so please do go and check your outbuildings.
Rebecca has been pounding the estate calling his name, but to no avail.
He is chipped and neutered, but he’s not wearing a collar. He is quite a friendly cat and so may come to people if they call him. Rebecca is hoping that he’s just exploring his new surroundings and hasn’t wandered too far, but please do look out for him and let her know if you get a sighting.
Please help her find him – his brother, Wesley, is really missing him!
Rebecca’s contact details are: rebecca_abele@nfumutual.co.uk

Here is an update on the Charity Bag situation mentioned in a previous post.
One of our residents reports
“While emptying the cat tray I spotted the necessary information on the front of the Herald. It appears that the scammers use Breakthrough Breast Cancer & Warwickshire Air Ambulance for their collections. I’m sure we must have received one of these as we have at least two bags delivered each week. Bags from Clothman Ltd purporting to be from Breakthrough should be reported to the charity. Any suspicious collections should be reported to Consumer Direct 08454 040506.
It suggests checking charity numbers at charity-commission.gov.uk, although I guess any fraudsters could use the registered number on the bags.
We have now reached the previous record of four charity bags in one week with two days to go. I have a feeling that the pink ribbon one (registered in Lithuania) may be one of those mentioned in last week’s Herald. Anyway – I’ve just rang the consumer service number given in the paper – also mentioned the others although the Kidney one that came first looked genuine & the others did give registered charity numbers (though of course these may not be genuine nor to be collected by registered collectors).”
And she adds a good bit of advice “If in doubt use for rubbish sacks & take gifts direct to store”

It is clear that there is not a lot for our younger residents to do on the Trinity Mead development. The youngest crowd have play parks and the adults now have some clubs to keep them amused.
However, suggestions about possible solutions would be most appropriate coming from the young themselves. Therefore, I would like to suggests that we have a Teenage Residents’ Committee to facilitate this process. There is already some interest, but it would be great to hear from the younger set – so please encourage your offspring to get on the site and leave their suggestions in the ‘Leave a comment’ section below this post.
If they would like to put themselves forward as members of the committee then please ask them to send a message with their contact details through the ‘contact us’ page.
There are also some grants that we could apply for, but again this has to come from the youngsters themselves. So, please, get active and let us know your interest

For the next six weeks, starting from 17 May, there will be a Drop In Centre at The Volunteer Shop in the Town Square (near Somerfields).
It will be manned by a Community Migrant Officer and there will be a Polish Interpreter, although it is open to any nationality.
If you are a visitor in this country and you would like some help with issues such as housing, work, benefits and so forth then just drop in to the Volunteer Shop any Monday, between 10am and 2pm. The last Monday will be 21 June.
Please tell your neighbours about this facility if you think they would benefit. Also do encourage them to join the Residents’ Association through this website, so they can get future notifications that might benefit them. If they are not on the internet then please tell them about the Drop In Centre.
Many thanks
Sian
