They are a grant giving charity supporting the people of Stratford town.  So do visit their website www.stratfordtowntrust.co.uk or phone Anita Applebee on 01789 207108.

Community Forum Update

The Community Speed Watch initiative is going to be discussed and adopted as a priority at the Forum on Wednesday 15 September 2010 at Stratford High School. Those interested in volunteering for this please attend the meeting and look for PCSO Stephen NYIRONGO.

Mobile Police Station

The mobile police station will be on Trinity Mead, Chesterfield area to be precise, from 11am to 2pm on Sunday, 19th September if you would like to visit!

Community Speed Watch

PCSO Stephen NYIRONGO from the Stratford Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team is looking for volunteers who would be prepared to undergo basic training to become members of the Community Speed Watch.  He needs at least 6 volunteers to make the scheme feasible. They will have to be vetted and trained by the Road Safety Unit and PCSO Nyirongo will be the liaison officer.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact PCSO Nyirongo

Childrens’ Centre

Having fought for a long time to keep the idea of a Childrens Centre on the land on Yeats Road, Warwickshire County Council have just informed me that the funding has been scrapped for any more outreach childrens’ centres in the County.  This is very sad news.  From the feed back I received from residents on Trinity Mead it was felt that it would have been a huge asset to the area.   I will be working with the childrens’ centres in Drayton Avenue and Wellesbourne to make sure that we can improve the service to people south of the river.  It has just been agreed at Cabinet today that 9 affordable homes will go onto this piece of land.  I will be in touch with any more news.

TUFFS – Turn up for FREE Sports!

Apparently the Play Day on the Rec yesterday was a great success despite the weather!

Well there is more in store – your children should have brought home from school the Hi-5 booklet, the guide to summer activities 2010, listing the organised sports that they can get involved in during the holidays.

However, do not worry if you cannot lay your hands on it –  you can download a copy at the Stratford.gov.uk website.   So just click here and you can also access a downloadable copy of the Parental Consent form.

Tuffs – Turn up for FREE Sports will be visiting Trinity Mead on two occasions

Friday, 13th August from 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Friday, 27th August from 1.30pm – 4.30pm

It states Amis Way in the brochure – we are not quite sure where, but maybe the green at the end of Barrie Close, also accessed off Wordsworth.  If you want to make sure you can call them on 01789 260643.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the youngsters (children of any age) to get outside and have a good play.  Possible sports and games may include football, cricket, rounders, tag rugby, tug of war, limbo, giant snakes and ladders and much more.

You don’t need to book, just turn up with the signed Parental Consent Form.  You can download a copy here, if you can’t find the booklet.

The booklet also lists other holiday activities your kids can join – please be generous and tell your neighbours – they might not know about this website yet and, if they are new to the area, their kids may not have the booklet.

Please join in – if we want these facilities to return we have to support them.

HAVE FUN!

Mobile Police Station

Martin Mansell, our PCSO, would like us to know that the Mobile Police Station will be on Trinity Mead on Saturday, 7th August between 15.00hrs and 17.00 hrs.  They will be floating around, but mainly in the Chesterfield area, so wave them down if you would like to talk to them.

Stratford Residents Car Parking Survey

Stratford Town Council have put out a residents car parking survey in their newsletter, “Bridging the Gap”, via the Midweek News delivery of 20th July – Ian Fradgley, Town Councillor, would be grateful if you Trinity Mead residents would complete the form – it can also be completed online from the Town Council’s website or  Click here to access Survey

Draft Allotment Policy

Sarah Summers, Town Clerk of Stratford Town Council has furnished us with the draft Allotment Policy approved by the GP Committee and the draft policy is now officially out for consultation. If you are interested in having an allotment, then I strongly suggest you read the draft Allotment Policy and have your say by either leaving a comment below or contacting Sarah Summers direct.

She has asked if we would read it and would be grateful if she could have our responses as soon as possible.  The matter will be brought to the Town Council Meeting on 21 September, 2010 and it is hoped that soon after the policy will be presented to the District Council with a recommendation that it be adopted as supplementary planning guidance.  This, of course, is subject to the consultation response.

To access the Draft Policy go to the ‘About Us’ tab at the top of the page – you will then get a drop down menu – hover your mouse over ‘Local Issues’ which will produce another menu – click on on ‘Allotments’.

Childrens’ Play Day

Wednesday, 4th August

There will be a childrens’ Play Day from 10am – 3pm at the Stratford Rec.  There will be a Climbing Tower, Mobile Skate Park, Football, Twister and other games, Bouncy Castle and Stalls.

It should be a great day for the kids – if they want to use the Climbing Tower or Mobile Skate Park then you will need to fill in a permission form available at Elizabeth House.  The Skate Park provides boards, helmets and supervision and obviously the Climbing Tower is supervised by professionals.

Apparently it will be down by the Band Stand / Ripple Cafe – but you won’t be able to miss it!

Don’t leave it too late as the Skate Park closes at 1pm.
