Book Club

Is anyone interested in having the first book club meeting on either Wednesday, 19 May or Thursday, 20 May at my house at 7.30pm.

I know we don’t have a book yet, but we could have the first get together to discuss what kind of books we would like to read and to set the other dates.  If there are too many for one group, we can form a second one there and then.

Childrens’ Book Club

We are delighted to announce details of the New Children’s Book Club.

Would your children like to get involved in some activities around books and reading?  Some of the ideas are listed below, but to find out more visit the tab on the left or up above – Childrens’ Book Club is listed under Book Club which is under Clubs

  • Bake some food that links to the book and share when we meet up.
  • Make bookmarks.
  • Make puppets or masks.
  • Write letters to the author or illustrator.
  • Role play scenes from the book or favourite characters.
  • Make costumes/jewellery associated with a theme or character from a book.
  • Take it in turn to recommend or choose the next book to read at the book club.

Book Club – Are You Ready?

Ok – here is the call to action!  If you are interested in joining a Book Club Group then please either send an email from the Contact Us tab and don’t forget to put your contact details, or leave a comment below this post (click on ‘Leave Comment’).

If you want to know more about it go to the Book Club tab above or in the left hand column.

Remember, this is for fun – you don’t have to be intellectual or well read – you just have to want to read one book about every 6 weeks and then get together with 6 – 8 other people to share your views on your read.  There are no judgements on how erudite you are.  Just a pleasant evening with a group of people who have a common interest – the book you have just read!

If you are interested in joining a book group please click on Book Club either in the left hand column or on the Club tab above and there will be a drop down menu for the Book Club.

Maybe you are interested in forming a group – if so there are some guidelines on the page.  If you let us know your area of interest we will put you in touch with people on the development who have the same interests.

Or maybe you would like to join a general interest group, if so to register your interest click on Contact Us and send an email stating your interest.
