About Us

Trinity Mead Website

This website has been created by and is managed by Sian McDermott.  Its purpose is to act as a hub of information about Trinity Mead – a one stop shop, if you like, for everything and anything that might be of interest to the residents.

Web posts are written by Sian, but often the information they contain comes from interested parties, such as the various clubs, local government, the police and the residents themselves.  To a large extent its success will depend on the contributions made by residents themselves.

Your ideas and suggestions will be welcome and many of them will make their way on to the site in one form or another.

It is hoped that people will comment on the posts in a constructive and friendly way, thus starting dialogue between residents that will promote a friendly neighbourhood.

The content may or may not reflect the views of the Residents’ Association Committee – it is not a viable project to run a website by committee – however the intent behind the website is to create an interesting and informative hub that will be of service to and hopefully give amusement to its residents.

The Residents’ Association

A group of us have set up the Trinity Mead Residents’ Association, primarily as a way of building a better social community and to provide an opportunity for more cohesion and friendship within the community (e.g. book, gardening and other clubs, Summer fete, activities for children, New Mums coffee mornings, Street Parties, Neighbourhood Watch, Car Share, Swap Shop and so forth). At a meeting on Monday, 1st February, 2010 we held a residents’ meeting and agreed a committee and outlined a plan to build membership of the Association.

The Associations’ more formal role will be to provide residents with links to our Community police and local Councillors who may be able to provide assistance in matters such as law & order, road adoption, hedges & verges, lighting and parking. We will provide information and links on this site for these issues so please keep an eye open for the posts.

Committee
Chair:           Sian McDermott
Secretary:   Jo Langford
Members:   Victoria Alcock, Liz & Richard Edwards, Natasha Juniper, Kufa Matiya

We plan to have occasional meetings to plan events and discuss any arising issues.

New Members
Our biggest task now is to make more of our neighbours aware of this Association so we are relying on your help; could each of you please spread the information that a Residents’ Association exists to all your friends on the Development? Please direct them to this website and encourage them to enter their name and email address in the Opt-in box on the home page – this puts them on the email list which means they will be notified about forthcoming events and meetings and also when new information is added to this site.

Street Champions
Our aim is to have a volunteer street champion for every couple of roads. We have divided the development into 19 zones. These champions will be the link between the committee and the Residents. As these people are likely to know at least some of their neighbours, who in turn will know others, it should be a more effective method of collecting and distributing information and furthermore of building trust.

We believe that by breaking down the Development into zones we make the task of raising awareness less daunting.

Street Champions:
Natasha Juniper, Lorraine Poole, Henry Hodgett, Linda & Mike Stevens, Louise Tartarelli, Nichola Shaw, Paul Harris, Jo Langford, Sian McDermott.
